Job Description

This is not your traditional teaching job! ACLE focuses on fostering the English language through the use of motivating and engaging methods such as drama, games and songs.
Each summer ACLE sends over 250 Native English speaking Tutors to around 150 Camps in Italy. Our Camps are located all over Italy and in the past have included Rome, Milan, Sicily, Bologna, Dolomites, Pisa, Siena, Naples to name a few. We have two kinds of Camps, Summer Camps and City Camps and the children are generally aged between 6 and 16 and will expect blood, sweat and cheers from you.
Our Tutors are given a 4-5 day Orientation Course before being sent to work in one of our Camps. This course prepares Tutors for their teaching position by providing them with activities, songs and games which teach the English language. In addition, we provide a manual and ideas on lesson plans and drama skits. We however, ask Tutors to bring their knowledge of drama, songs and suitable games they enjoy playing because simply following the provided programme will not be sufficient. Your own creativity, input and ideas are essential to make the Camps more enjoyable for the children and yourself!
Our Summer Camps are residential and usually held in a hotel where the children come and stay for a week at a time. Tutors also stay at the hotel and work all week with the children, providing activities such as pre-organized lessons, drama, games, sports and evening activities.
Our City Camps are usually held at a local schools and the children come five days per week, being dropped off daily. Tutors are hosted in either a flat or by a family who open their home and hearts to them. It’s a great summer experience with fantastic benefits for you and the children you meet. Take a look at our photo gallery and see for yourself!

ACLE Tutors also have many options to work for us:

  • Based on your performance, work a total of 8-12 weeks at SUMMER & CITY CAMPS during the summer.
  • To work in Language Schools associated to ACLE after the summer.
  • To work as a Tutor teaching English in schools all over Italy during the academic year.
  • To work as an actor in ACLE’s THEATRINO theatre department touring Italy for 3 to 7 months.
  • To work in one of ACLE’s offices in Italy.
