What are the ACLE Camps?

ACLE Camps aim to:
Provide an English Language full immersion experience for Italian children who are unable to spend the summer in an English-speaking country.
Create enthusiasm and motivation for new multicultural experiences.
Demonstrate that the traditional Italian teacher-centred scholastic system of “chalk and talk” fails to stimulate the emotion and energy that an entertaining atmosphere can provide.

WHAT DOES THE JOB INVOLVE?

If you’re enthusiastic, positive and dependable
this could be the experience for you!

Tutor Roma

Each summer ACLE sends over 250 native English speaking tutors to around 150 Camps in Italy. Our Camps are located all over Italy - from the Dolomites to Sicily. Camps are either city based (City/Day Camps) or residential (Summer Camps). Locations change every year but previous Camps have been held in Rome, Milan, Sicily, Bologna, Dolomites, Pisa, Siena, Naples to name a few. It’s a great summer experience with fantastic benefits for you and the children you meet.

This is not your traditional teaching job! ACLE focuses on fostering English development through the use of interesting and engaging methods such as games, songs and drama.

The children are generally aged between 6 and 16 and will expect blood, sweat and cheers from you. Your own creativity, input and ideas are essential to make the Camps more enjoyable for the children and yourself!

Knowledge of drama, songs and suitable games you enjoy playing are vital. Simply following the provided programme is not sufficient.
