Camps… A Typical Day
- What’s a typical day like?
The morning is usually spent teaching English using workbooks and includes activities and simple songs, grammar and functions required by Italian schools. During the rest of the day the programme is more flexible and includes games, sports, drama, arts and crafts, etc. At the end of each camp every child will perform a small part in a final show for the parents. You will have time with your group during the week to rehearse and make props for a small skit/sketch.
City (Day) Camps require you to be at school Monday to Friday, and sometimes Saturday. You will usually start at 9 and finish at 6. After that you can relax, recuperate and plan for the next day! Depending on the Camp you might stay in hotels, apartments or with families. You will usually have the weekend to explore your neighbourhood.
Summer (Residential) Camps require you to be ‘on duty’ 24/7. Parents leave their children in your care so you must be responsible and attentive at all times. These Camps are usually at locations near beaches or mountains so you may be able to hike, swim or go on excursions with the children. Evenings are spent with fun activities such as discos, games, camp fires and competitions. Summer Camps are a great way to really get to know Italian kids and work in scenic locations. We usually have around eight Summer Camps a year.
