• Are Italian children fluent in English ?

This varies across the country. If the child’s parent is an English teacher or if the child’s mother or father is a native English speaker then more than likely the child will be able to speak English fluently. On the other hand, some English teachers cannot speak English! The educational system in Italy is very different to that in America, England and Australia. All a teacher needs to do to become a Primary school teacher is study English grammar and pass a written test!
